    1. Who we are

    The Jar HQ ("we", "us", "our") is operated by The Jar Pickleball Club Pty Ltd, the data controller for personal information collected through this website and at our venue at 35 Emu Road, Maidstone VIC 3012. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

    2. What we collect

    • Waitlist signups: name, email, phone (optional), sport interest, membership status.
    • Bookings & memberships: handled by our third-party booking provider (Play by Point) — see their privacy policy.
    • Site analytics: anonymised page views, referrer, device type, IP-derived country.
    • Communications: emails, calls and enquiries you send us.

    3. Lawful basis & purpose

    We collect this information to (a) communicate with you about HQ openings, memberships and events you've asked about, (b) operate the venue and your account, and (c) meet our legal obligations. We rely on your consent (waitlist), contract performance (bookings/memberships), and legitimate interests (site security and analytics).

    4. Who we share it with

    We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run HQ:

    • Mailchimp (Intuit) — email list and campaign delivery.
    • Our backend & hosting provider — secure storage of waitlist signups.
    • Play by Point — court bookings and member accounts.
    • Google Maps — embedded map on the Visit page.
    • Law enforcement or regulators where required by Australian law.

    5. Retention

    We keep waitlist signups until you unsubscribe or ask to be removed, plus a short period for audit. Booking and membership records are kept for as long as the law requires (typically 7 years for financial records).

    6. Cookies

    This site uses strictly-necessary cookies to operate. We may add privacy-respecting analytics cookies — they don't identify you personally. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings.

    7. Your rights

    You can ask us at any time to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to unsubscribe from marketing emails. Email hq@thejar.club. If you're not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
